Gridlock In Porvoo

I can attest to the difficulty of walking this steep hill both ways. I wonder how they navigate this in the wintertime. Perhaps by sled?

Such order to this (except the couple at top!) it seems to defy human nature to be a little messy. Even the cyclists are single file. By the expression on the first two, I get the feeling of this being the entrance to a larger vista, they each look a different direction, but the girl behind sees only you. She's still in formation.

Great shot! I'd hate to be on a bike trying to hold onto the brakes behind the pedestrians!!! Love the tones and composition here. Excellent.

Good grief! Thought it was an alley not Main Street!! Great capture of every day life. V

Well captured, Jay! Is it single file or you get a traffic ticket for not walking properly! Certainly a great city to get lots of exercise! ~V~

Nice shot, Jay. A modern scene in a historic setting. Just think that what it would be like if San Francisco's streets were narrow like that! All those people trying to get somewhere on a steep terrain.

Love your title. I'm amazed that the walkers aren't at all nervous about the bikers right behind them on that hill.

Nice shot Jay, those inclines are good for the heart but going up only.
Very nice street scene , bet it is not to easy to walk or bike on those stones the street are paved with.

Great shot and funny commentary. One can wake up with sore leg muscles after exploring a town like this one. :)

Is there some kind of traffic rule here?
All walk down in a single file on one side.
And they climb up on the right?
Nice clean shot, Jay ~V~

Going down on bikes looks okay but would hate to go up on one. Well done Jay, I'm trying to picture you 'running' down the slope to turn around and get this shot.:-)
Hope you didn't wear high heels?LOL

pretty steep hill, We have one around here that is this steep and they have bricks that are raised higher every few rows to help slow the cars down on their decent down the hill. V

Nice shot Jay. The stones look like they have all been hand fit. Well done. V
