Our physical appearance is ever changing and not who we really are. The substance of whom and what we are is not physical...but spiritual. When I photograph people the outer appearance does not nearly interest me as much as the Spirit that emanates from within. Yes, the outer appearance, the physical form, is interesting but when “Being” or Spirit is recorded with the camera and felt by the viewer... the results are powerful and extraordinary.
Through my photographic art my intention is not to take pretty pictures that will reflect a false image of what the subject's ego wants to portray, but to touch upon a level of truth.
People who typically commission me to create portraits are those who are drawn to images that delve below the surface and reflect the essence of Spirit.
