Peter Paul Harnisch has been creating using the photographic medium for over 20 years. Graduating with the top portfolio award from the Hallmark Institute of Photography Massachusetts, USA) Harnisch returned to his hometown of Vancouver. The span of his work includes portraiture, commercial and documentary photography with a special emphasis on working with children and youth. His first foray into photo-documentary was when Save the Children of BC asked him to record the lives of children in the war-torn country of El Salvador. Other assignments followed including: Children with Cancer at a hospice in Mexico City; Premature infants in BC Children's Hospital; Street-kids in Vancouver; Children and Youth in Jamaican; Children in Dance; and Aboriginal youth at Powwow's throughout British Columbia. His corporate sponsorships have come from Canadian Airlines International, Japan Airlines, and Hasselblad USA. He published a coffee-table book of his images, Children: From the Heart, and his work has been featured in photographic magazines in Spain, Los Angeles, and Santa Barbara. Peter has photographed over 35 BC-based fortune 500 presidents and CEOs, political leaders and well-know artists.
Feeling bunrt-out from producing photographs commercially Peter took a hiatus and instead focused on creating when "the spirit moved him". Peter is once again venturing into commercial photography, however this time, he is using a more heart-felt and intuitive approach and is accepts commissions from only those who truly connect with his creative style and vision.
