s-l1600 (92).jpg

An antique Tibetan tsakli painting, 19th Century or earlier (much earlier), depicting within a brilliant red nimbus stands a big-bellied, blue-bodied wrathful deity stepping to the right on his lotus throne. He has flaming red hair, brows, beard and moustaches, his mouth is open, fangs bared, as he brandishes a dorje in his right hand, his left against his chest in tarjani mudra, the gesture of warning. He wears very fine bone ornaments which hang low to his 'lobed' belly, a tiger-skin dhoti and a green celestial scarf which flows down about him. 1 line of effaced red text to central reverse side, and 1 syllable below. 9 x 12cm

other sizes: small medium large original auto
