A city abstracted, Phoenix, Arizona, 2009

Eight windows, each of them reflecting a different aspect of the building across the street. No two reflections are alike here – the window materials color them, distort them, and retain them. There were dozens of such windows, but I choose only eight here to create a simplified matrix of the mysterious.

Good point, Carol. A contrast in time is certainly present here. These particular windows do three things to the subject: they reflect it, they distort, and they alter the coloration as well. I then use my frame to isolate only a part of the reflective mass here, showing less and hopefully saying more. Thanks.

Almost cave-like architecture is suggested inside these very contemporary windows! Reflections are great to play with distortions.
