A brilliant camera in every respect. So long as you know how to take a good picture, you'll take great ones with the G1. Simply the best small sensor camera I've yet owned or tried.

Too bad panasonic don't make any wireless remote shutter.
The GH1 , G1 and GF1 don't have wireless remote shutter. just the 12 sec delay that autofocus only when you press the shutter.
Wireless Remote Shutter is an extreme important feature for reporter that do self portrait and remote moving portraits.
When panasonic will make remote shutter capable camara i will start looking again.
Meanwhile Nikon and Canon for remote shooting..

Got one of these foor Christmas. So far very pleased, but if you're in Japan then buyer beware: there's no language option on the Japanese version of this camera (though oddly you can choose Japanese on the language menu in international ones I believe). Not a big deal since the menus come with icons that are pretty intuitive.

Still, seems a bit boneheaded to me to make a Japan-only version of global software which costs extra both to develop and maintain as well as production line stup costs. Mind you Panasonic isn't the only Japanese company to do this -- Sony also do it, at least on their low end cameras.

Panasonic shares are trading at 0.6x book value right now. I rest my case.

Played around with one of these in Bic Camera a couple of weeks ago. The focussing speed is nothing short of astounding. Easily as quick as a "normal" SLR. How come no one's posted any pics yet?
