Tarantula Nebula is a huge HII / emission nebula located in a southern constellation Doradus (golden fish). It is catalogued as NGC 2070 and also known as 30 Doradus.
The Tarantula Nebula is located on a side of the Large Magellanic Cloud - a small dwarf galaxy orbiting the Milky Way.
Deep narrowband images show that the entire region is engulfed in huge glowing clouds of ionized hydrogen as well as dark veils of dust. The "one shot color" SXV-M25 camera shows only the brightest part of these clouds - a number of bright emission nebulae.
