Closed For The Season

I went out this afternoon looking to take some actions shots. I was hoping to find some kids tubing and sledding so I went to a county park and there was no one there. I had seen a spot on a pond that had been cleared for skating or some ice hockey so I went there and again no one was there. I remembered that motorcycles and snowmobiles race on the bay so I went there. There was a track on the ice but no one there either. Even my usually reliable ice fishermen seemed to be absent today. Couldn't find a cross country skier at the golf course either. I know it was cold but it was in the teens with no wind and there was some new snow on the ground. Doesn't anyone play outside anymore?

Nice grey day shot Patti.....good crop!....time to go for landscapes I guess if the peeps have hidden away from view.No better time than after a fresh snow....no footprints to mess up the shot!

Well done, Patti. Other than us photographers and a handful of skiers few people are venturing out into the cold.

No, they are all inside watching the games. Pity but I love what you did finally find. :) Sweet composition!

The lure of Playstation and Xbox keeps the younger generation indoors now.
Nicely composed against the pale winter sky.

Everyone's gearing up for the Superbowl?? Strange to be the only one out and about! Sometimes having the place to yourself can be a good thing. Really nice shot!

Only people with cameras seem to be out doors anymore; playing.
…and you scene evokes the thrill of cresting the top ready for that downward rush…V

I had the woods all to myself this morning for the most part. Nobody on the skating pond, skiers on the trails, parking lots all empty, etc. I guess we are hardy folk!

They must have been with the birds in my neighborhood! Couldn't find then either. Here I thought you were hoping for a ride. :-) Like the copyright on the post, you are very inventive!

There must have been a ball game going on the television.
