I was asked if I would test these lights. What are they? If you have a shop light that uses two fluorescent tubes, these are LED tube lamps that replace the fluorescent ones. Yeah I know they look like streaks of light but that's because I'm shooting up at them. When they shine down, it looks just like a "normal" fluorescent lamp. So why bother? Well, most of you probably don't know this but fluorescent tube lamps have a little mercury in them (used to excite the phosphor in it) and mercury's bad stuff (ever break a thermometer?). Additionally LEDs use much less power and they are supposed to last "many times" longer and that means it costs you less to leave the lights on. The down side is these are pretty costly right now compared to a standard fluorescent tube lamp. But since I'm testing them, I'm enjoying them. Oh and they fit right in a standard fluorescent tube lamp fixture - nothing to do but change the bulbs. It's cool to be on the cutting edge of technology :-)
PS it's dark behind the lamps (under the fixture) because LEDs are directional lighting. They don't emit light like the fluorescent tube lamp does.
PPS Photographically there is no green cast either so even if you forget to change your WB it doesn't really matter.
