Normally I feed the Chickadees in the Winter (see http://www.pbase.com/pkocinski/image/90238806 ) but today I didn't have any seed with me but stuck my hand out there anyway and of course these spoiled Chickadees, who are used to getting free food from folks, are all too willing to check out your hand. I did this a couple of times along the walk and most Chickadees would land on my hand, look at me as if to say "Where's the seed?" and then they would fly off only to be replaced by another Chickadee. Finally one Chickadee landed on my hand, looked at me and then started to peck at my fingers and kept pecking and nipping at my fingers until I shook it off my hand.
I guess I deserved that for not feeding them.
