I took this photo from aboard a Philippine Airlines YS-11 flight from Manila to Baguio after the airline's widebodies
had flown in from regional & international destinations and were parked at the Manila International Airport, or MIA,
as it was known back then. We departed from the Manila Domestic Airport (MDA) & took off from runway 13.
On the tarmac are Philippine Airlines aircraft. L-R: Boeing 727, two Boeing 747-200s & an Airbus A300s.
Portable stairs were used due to the lack of jet bridges back then.
The curved structure is the Manila Int'l Airport terminal & control tower. This terminal was replaced in the same year by Terminal I (now NAIA I).
Eventually this MIA terminal was demolished and the current Terminal II (Centennial Terminal) built in its place.
The two white-roofed parallel rectangular bldgs above MIA still exist today.
