I took this photo from aboard a Philippine Airlines YS-11 flight from Manila to Baguio. We took off from runway 13.
The time was early morning after the wide body aircraft had flown in from regional and international destinations
and were parked at the Manila International Airport, or MIA, as it was known back then.
On the tarmac are two PAL Airbus A300s and a Northwest Boeing 747-200. Note that portable ramps were used owing the the lack of jetbridges back then.
The curved structure on top is the Manila International Airport terminal & control tower. To its right is the parking lot.
This MIA terminal was replaced in the same year by Terminal I (now NAIA I). Eventually this MIA terminal was demolished and
in its place was built the current Terminal II (Centennial Terminal).
