There had been really good rains in the Serengeti in Tanzania
and the grass was tall and often still green for the time of
year. The potential fire risk was consequently high so the
rangers were actively conducting controlled burns to reduce the
fuel load and prevent later catastrophic fires. Smoke was everywhere
and the migration was later then usual. Scenes like this were everywhere.
