Sego Canyon

This is a Fremont Style panel of the Southern San Rafael Style with very typical looking Fremont figures. On this panel, art can be seen superimposed over the top of older art. The Fremonts painted some simple figures in red that were later pecked over to produce a few figures with simple trapezoidal heads and bodies. Even later, additional anthropomorphs were added in outline with elaborate waists and necklaces. A mountain sheep and other items can be seen overlapping the pecked figures. The really early stuff might be Basketmaker and not Fremont. Reusing space by doing art on top of older art was a common practice in the Southwest.
