April 13

I arrived at the bridge at 4:30 today. At 4:50 a Peregrine flew to a highest corner of the derrick furthest from shore, one of the few spots that is totally out of view from the ground. It sat there until 5:15 when it flew to a railing on the scaffold where the pair has its scrape (nest). I was able to identify this bird as the male because I could detect the leg bands in my digiscope. He sat there for five minutes and returned to his high perch on the derrick. I never saw food brought in, nor a "changing of the guard" at the nest.
