... or " Holy Walk "

In the narrow streets of Madurai a crowd gathered in a small temple to celebrate ten holy men who were going for a Holy walk to Palani.

When you go for 18 years during the months November-December-January, you are considered as a Guru-leader. The religious disciples will provide you with sweet rice and vegetable biriyani ... and will sing for three hours at the departure for a journey of three days to Palani. Under the way they still recieve more fruits and food like biscuits sponsered by companies.

This old Guru went for sure more then 18 years to Palani, his hand moving towards the forehead of a disciple to bless her with thirunier or holy white chalk.
