She was starting to spin a thick coccoon of silk
probably for a clutch of spiderettes...I didn't
want baby spiders running amok on my deck next Spring
so I gently moved her to a remote location in the
nearby woods. Typically a female like this won't
survive the first frost, which hasn't hit yet.
