This was an interesting pumping phase. Although most work progresses to the North, here a short section was worked to the South from a newly located offshore pipe. This image illustrates the technique used to join the Southward fill to the older Northward fill. A large ditch was excavated and sand pumped in to fill the void. This is not the normal process as work moves away from an offshore pipe.
