Kitchen Window

The towel rack got to me. it brought home that these people were really there.
On a lighter side, it seems that I inadvertently caught my reflection in the broken glass pane on the sill.

So neat that you got your reflection in that little bit of window. A great photo that really tells a story. V

Love the accidental SP.. I thought it was some old magazine page until I read the details.

Abandoned for a long time, your SP give this image some real life in a place where there is none.. Top work, Neil V

Like this a lot. The weathered wood, the chipped paint, the broken windows, the torn screen and the crowning touch: the coffee cup. Great B&W image. Big vote.

Nice job. I like the reflection along with the textures and value range. Being able to see light on the opposite wall adds a nice addition as does the broken cup. I really like what Bill Friedlander said about your image and agree. Voted

Its a super image, and indeed it is the small details that make one realize the humanity….I am fascinated by the back window and its reflections and also that big stain on the wall. I love it that you captured your reflection there, even if it was accidental. BV

A forlorn window, beautifully rendered here, with the cracked old paint and rotting wood., decrepit but dignified.
So far as the tiny self-portrait, I think the house has the last laugh.
It captured you.
You may still be there.

I nearly missed your SP thinking at first it was a printed piece of paper on the window sill.. This beautifully rendered slice of life image seems a sad and almost desperate existence. The mug also adds a hint that the occupants still live here. Beautifully done in monochrome too enhancing your textures and details.

lovely textures and character in these photos of old houses...can we say that about old humans?

this has grim reality...but the SP is enchanting. V

It's strange that a rather sad sight like this makes such a great photograph - ditto David's "tingles with tones and textures" :) V

a cagey SP then, and a well worn house...this tingles with tones and textures....V
