To blue or not to blue - by MCsaba

Hungary

The subject on this image is a fragment from the wing of the "Color-changing" butterfly. The wing's color changes between brown and blue depending on the angle of light. I was allowed to make one shot only, since the heat produced by the flash burned few of the scales and the owner (and I too) do not wanted to risk more damages.

The image is a nice abstract. I kind of like the one brown band to offset the the blue. Marc

My first association for blue was this butterfly which shows the blue color if he feels safe, happy and wants to attract the females, but turns to brown in case of any danger. - MCsaba

Your image includes blue scales, but it doesn't say to me that the theme is something blue, just that there's blue in the image. I don't find this one nearly as interesting as your other two, which are both very good. Perhaps if all four bands were the same as the top two and you ran them diagonally from corner to corner this would have worked a bit better, but I think this subject has limited potential and you are better off trying other things.
