Bridge to the Ruin by Peter Thorup

The "Aldershvile Castle" was build around 1790 by the Queens Lord Chamberlain as a summer villa, and was really not a Castle. It had several owners but around 1900 was purchased by a very enterprisng lady who had returned from Italy after her third marriage as a very wealthy lady. She beacame known as "The Countess of Bagsværd", Bagsværd beeing the name of the area. In 1909 it caught fire and burned down, and the countess had not been properly insured so could not afford to rebuild. She moved to Copenhagen where she lived by the insurance sum until she had used all her means in 1914 which led to her suicide. The ruin has beem standing there ever since and are today protected.
The garden and bridges were established at the same time and are still in a resonably condition.
