Bead Shop by Jack Grouell

My wife was shopping for beads in this shop in Christchurch leaving me lots of time to wonder around looking for pictures. The shop owners were very cooperative in allowing pictures to be taken inside – something that does not happen in the USA.

Great composition. The fall of light takes the eye on a journey down the shelves to explore subtle colors and details in an otherwise dark setting. - Pat

Hi Jack,

the lighting makes this picture adding interest to the composition. Lots of detials for our eyes to discover, and great texture provided by the beads. Very nice shot

Hi Jack,
Your pic is subtle and dramatic at the same time and definitely answers the challenge of showing a touch of colour in a different way from your steam train. The stark contrast between the colourless surrounds and the subtle tonings where the light paints the jars on the shelves to show up the details gives plenty of points of interest and I think plenty of people will be opening this one to check out that detail.
Cheers, John
