Eerie picture--ghostly. I can imagine seeing it, looking away and back again...and the
face is gone. Great idea and well done.

Very nice picture. Looking at it kind of puts me in the mystery mood, and I think it would make a great cover for a classic English crime novel.

Ah, to lighten or not to lighten! I was looking at this before you made the adjustments troy and I too prefer this version. One just knows there's a good story behind this one, great concept.

Hi Troy,
Good job. The idea is still great and I like your pic much better now. I know what you mean about going back and forth in deciding what to do. Digital imaging allows so much flexibility that it can sometimes be a burden, but a nice burden to bear ;o). I doubt anyone will find this version less pleasing than the darker original you posted. It still has that antique ambience and still integrates the clock and your face (?) to realise the theme in more than one way. I'm a big fan of clever, double meanings like this. :o)
Cheers, John

Hello all and thank you for your comments.

You don't know how long I debated back and forth on the darkness.
Make it darker, no lighter, and no darker, no lighter aaaaaaahhhh!
Ok, lets put it to the world and see… …and the world has spoken.
So, I lightened and resubmitted.
This still has the mood that I am looking for yet gives more detail to the clock.

Just starting in the world of photography I do not have the filters I would like.
The original picture is light then this, but the mood of the picture was perfect.
I adjusted the levels to get the antique look I was after, then adjusted the brightness and contrast to fit the mood.

The idea behind the picture is to look into a clock and as ones sees their reflection begins to think about the time that has pasted and what became if that time. Deep :-)

Hi Troy, excellent shot and a great idea. I like the old flavor of the colors and textures. The center of the image seems a little dark to me, although this may vary some according to how people have their monitors set. Very nice shot though.
Richard.

Hi Troy,
Clever idea. The light was obviously very low judging by the camera settings and the dark result. Unfortunately, the darkness really detracts from the potential of this pic for me. Maybe a wider aperture would have been in order and perhaps an even longer exposure of 1 sec or more. Alternatively, I think even some soft artifical light would have really given this one a better chance.
BTW, you will need to include the pic date to validate the entry in this comp gallery.
Cheers, John

g'day Troy - i enjoy the double entendre of this image - and also appreciate the technical aspects of the pic, with tripod & focus - very well executed, with low light also. I look forward to seeing more of your work. Thanks. adrianox

Troy, nice shot, if only a little on the dark side, i suspect if it had been any lighter you may have missed getting the reflection in. Was any of the actual reflection PP? Or was it all natural? Either way, it captures the topic very well.
