Butterfly 2 by D. Beardsley

Black Mountains / North-Western Arizona

The first small wildflowers and butterflies of spring. Straight from camera, no post processing. The butterfly has about a one and a half inch wingspan.

Beautiful butterfly and pleasing saturated colours. For me the image would be improved slightly if the DOF was a little larger as the flower the butterfly is resting on seems not quite pin-sharp. However that's being picky. Makes me wish I was a butterfly with nothing to do but sip nectar all day... :)

Beautiful shot...very nice detail in the wings. IMO the background may have been cropped, and the frame is more of a distraction to me than an enhancement. If you wish to keep a frame then perhaps another color? Neat looking butterfly.
