Hi there, Ive got a spider here and i have no clue what type it is. I see them alot and never have I ever seen it before. I live in Alamogordo out in the country/desert. I have my friend here who took a picture of a big freaking spider that's the color, I shit you not,of concrete. It stands 2 inches high and flattens straight out to the floor to the point its almost impossible to even make out if its there or not This thing doesnt have a regular spider face, it's trapizod shaped. Its FAST! Like as fast as a lizid or even wolf spide fast. Its either concrete color or dirt color. I would think its a mix between sun spider or wolf but i got no clue. It dont even really look earthly... It like apollo 18 spider rock scary. Im not joking. Help me out cause i need to know bout this specific spider cause my friend sleep in a garage Is it poisonous like a recleus or does it most likely carry any parasites. thanks if you get this and answer.

There is a medium sized spider on a 3-D type web on my patio in Houston, Texas. It has long front legs, it is dark grey to black with shiny neon green and orange on the back and abdomen. I have not been able to get a picture. This creature does not move fast and does not seem aggressive but I have never seen one like it before and cannot seem to find any pictures of one like it online. Any ideas what it might be?

What kind of spider is it that is shiny black, large, a white spot on top of head area, long legs, front legs extended forward. Moves fast and jumps, funnel type nest..find no pic to identify

seriously I've been searching forever and can't find a website that shows more than a few spiders and most are about Australian spiders. I live in idaho and want to know what the heck kind of spider I keep killing at work. (sorry spider lovers.) they scare the crap out of me.

I was going through the wood pile taking out the actual wood. I found a brown spider with like redish/purple color legs...and it was the size of a dime..wanted to know and see pictures of spiders so that I can know what kind I have in my yard and if there dangerous or not. I have one kid who has friends coming over all the time and 2 dogs. Have to be safe.

Walker- There are 4 harvestman spiders on this page so far. One is covered with parasitic mites, one is eating a mosquito, and the other two are just portraits.

I've been looking for recommendations of moderately priced digital cameras that will take extreme closeup shots of Tegenaria spp. and other spiders. I just found your site thanks to a friend, and your photos are amazing. I have been trying Macro Photography now for a year. I use a Canon 10D with a Sigma 105mm EX DG Macro. I've gotten some cool shots, but very few of this overall quality. I can't believe you get this kind of detail out of the "Canon Powershot". You sir are a professional in my book.

I read your macrophotography tutorial and the answer to my question was there. Nice setup you have, simple. I love macro photography and will look into a setup similar to yours; bracket, flash kit, and I need to find my old Pentax screw mount lenses so I can reverse mount mine as well. Now where is my Pentax SP1000 with those lenses? hmm
