Nuuk is the capital and largest city of Greenland with a population
of over 16 thousand people. Although small, this is a modern city
with Greenland's only university and its largest hospital. Nuuk
is the world's most northern capital.
Although having a great degree of autonomy, Greenland is politically
within the Kingdom of Denmark and receives substantial funding from
Denmark. The monarch of Denmark is the head of state of Greenland.
