Hamar is a small town 60 miles north of Oslo on Lake Mjøsa that is the ancestral
home of Julie's grandmother. We visited Hamar so Julie could research family
genealogy at the local State Archives.
We stayed in a small guest house where most guests were from other countries
attracted by jobs to Norway with its good economy. As with most of Norway,
English was spoken everywhere.
Hamar is attractive and appeared prosperous. The house pictured is one of many
homes on the lake and all were large and well maintained.
