With a population of about 28,000 people, Hamar had a busy city center.
Two things you do not do in Norway are drive beyond the speed limit or
drink when driving. Speeding under 5mph over the speed limit can result
in a $100 fine and the alcohol limit is less than one beer.
There were no stop signs in Hamar. If two cars approach an intersection
at the same time, the car on the right has right of way and the other
car must stop UNLESS one road has a yellow diamond sign which gives that
road priority automatically. This was not easy to learn.
