Red-tailed Hawk (Immature)

Warrenton, Virginia

This juvenile stayed perched in a Maple tree very close to our sunflower seed feeders watching several squirrels ground feeding on spilled sunflower seeds.
He/she didn't quite get up enough nerve to 'nail' one of the many squirrels we currently have. I ventured out into our front yard for this shot. I purposely kept my distance because I want him/her to 'thin-the-herd' of squirrels!
Best viewed in 'original' size.
