Large secretive shy birds. Local Virginians call them "Rain Crows".
Getting close to them is nearly as difficult as getting close to Pileated Woodpeckers.
I know one is around on cloud-covered days, because I hear the 'cluck' calls they make; thus the "Rain Crows" name because when you hear their call, it does usually rain.
