Yellow-billed Cuckoo

Canaan Valley, West Virginia

During a late lunch on our open front porch, this cuckoo flew in and landed in a large beech tree at eye level. After scrambling for my camera in the cabin, I rediscovered the cuckoo in an adjoining front yard maple tree.
He/she had moved higher into the cover of the new leaves.

Really nice bird and photo! I was happy to see this species in Arizona, always quite skulking in the trees.

Wow, that is a fantastic shot! I don't know about down your way, but here the yellow-billed is very rare. V
