Once in a while I see vendors selling LPs on the street and can't resist looking at the covers with nostalgia. We all remember certain records and their covers and how they fit into our lives biographically. What one do you see in your mind's eye? Everyone who digs classical music remembers the Lilly Pads (Phila Ormandy Sibelius Five) or The Beatles crossing Abby Road or the portrait of Miles on Kind Of Blue or a zillion others which not only have musical significance but were/are part of lifes crossroads.
This picture evokes that kind of nostalgia for me.
With CDs, the album cover is less important but still there and now I ride in the car with my iPod with over nine Gigs (3000 cuts) of music and still growing . FUTURE SHOCK!
But, in a sense things have come round a little when I load some music onto my iPod from the net, I can get the cover on my screen and look at the artwork. Not the same but its a brave new world and I still get to shoot an occasional cover for friends demo CDs etc.
Great and evocative picture as you can tell by my run-on comments.
