Laura next to some of the drive wheels on the Southern Pacific's articulated locomotive No. 4294.
Couldn't bring myself to take an overall shot of the thing b/c it is, hands-down, the ugliest
locomotive I've ever seen. With nothing graceful or ornamental about it, it's a business-only
machine capable of towing an 18 million pound payload up steep grades with tight turns. . . .
