Bus to Stockholm in the afternoon. Rest of day on our own. We toured the city by tourboat. First impressions were very positive. What a beautiful city! Our hotel is right downtown. We can walk to almost everything.
Next morning- Tour of Gamla Stan, the old town dating from the 13th century. Observed the changing of the guard. Then we took a ferry boat to tour the Vasa museum. Here a salvaged and restored warship from the 1600's is on an impressive display.
Afternoon - Bob, Cindy, Jan and I connected with Jon and Eva and we toured Skansen, a museum of restored historical buildings from around Sweden. We had lunch and then took a ferry to the south side hill where we were able to photograph the city. Then we stopped at the Ice Bar on our way back to the hotel.
A farewell dinner and our wonderful journey has ended.
