Aries, part II

So clearly he wasn't planning to go anywhere. Later, with Laurie
feeling reluctant about it (me too), I let him in. Most cats in a
house where they've never been before will zoom around with their tails
between their legs and escape to the first piece of furniture they
can hide under. Then it's the pits getting them to come out. Not
this one. He walked in casual as you please, got up onto the couch,
and went to sleep. That night he slept with us on the bed. Hmm...

In a couple of days we took him to the vet to see if he had an
implanted chip. He did. We contacted the owner. He'd been out on
his own for a month and a half, had picked up worms and fleas, and
had lost one-third of his weight. She'd only just gotten over mourning
his loss and was pretty surprised and glad that someone had found him.
She came by, got him, and took him home, vowing that she wouldn't
let him out again. (Story continues in next photo caption)
