March 18 is a national holiday in Turkey, and streets, ferry boats (pictured), and even a university are named 18 March ("on-`sek-eez mart"). In a childrens' bookstore window in Istanbul I saw a very nice 3-D drawing of the peninsula and a description of the naval action. Good and cheap souvenir (1 Turkish lira, about 70 cents).
