common name=hawkweed. comes in yellow too. just gave my daughter (in ottawa) all my field guides or i'd give you latin name, but hawkweed is nice...eh?

These are VERY common in Newfoudnland and to a somewhat lesser degree in PEI and Nova Scotia. I don't know what they are called, but I hope my comments will help you.
