Great Black-backed Gull

The exposure is a little washed out in this shot, but still a great comparison to the nearby Ring-bills and also the suddenly diminutive 1st-winter Herring Gull just behind it! The huge head and small eye are obvious here, as is the steep gonydeal angle to the bill. Great Black-backs are stockier-looking than Herring Gulls, having less wing projection past the tail.
