Though I was focused on the Scoters, I was also hoping for some ID shots of the numerous Greater Scaup, even though lighting wasn't very good for bringing out the colors on the male birds, or any birds for that matter!

Scaup are easiest to ID for me when they are sleeping, with the head of Greater much deeper, nicely rounded and pretty flat on top, vs the obviously peaked head of sleeping Lesser. I was later finally able to get this comparison side-by-side.
