Here is another abandoned industrial site that I recently explored and photographed. If your wondering why I recently started photographing at abandoned buildings, it is because my local club set a monthly photographic theme and this month is “abandoned.” I love the challenge of being pushed into new subjects I might not ordinarily shoot. The last two days I shot at an unusual old train station built in the 1880s. It has some great features and I'll post some images of it here soon.
This interior shot is of a huge hook and ceiling crane in the abandoned factory, H.W. Warshow & Sons, Inc. in Milton, Pennsylvania. They were a company that manufactured and marketed stretch fabrics. The records show they went out of business a few years ago due to foreign competition. This facility was a whole lot less dangerous than the previous shoot in Lewistown, Pa. at the “American Viscose Plant." See last three photos.
