Homage to Clyfford Still.

Years ago while attending art school we looked a lot at the work of the “Abstract Expressionists.” I remember back then being impressed with their bold use of color, the scale and boldness of many of the works I studied. This early art education has largely stayed with me throughout the years, so today when I go out exploring and taking new photographs I find myself remembering many of the works and artists I so admired back then.
Clyfford Still was a leader in the first generation of Abstract Expressionists who developed a new, powerful approach to painting in the years immediately following World War II.
Still was also considered one of the foremost Color Field painters - his non-figurative paintings are non-objective, and largely concerned with juxtaposing different colors and surfaces in a variety of formations.

Certainly is bold colour and beautiful rough textures. Very well done.
