HDR images

HDR's are fun, but they are, in the end, just another tool... some time's it's the right tool, some times it's the wrong tool, and other times it's just an alternative tool to do the same job (as dodge/burn/masked adjustment layers/normal tone mapping etc)

I think some of these work... and some don't.

Craig... it depends some are just 3 captures others are 5 and even 7 captures. I't mostly in the processing though - most are done in Photomatics, others in Photoshop's HDR merge, and many are done in both and merged (using Photoshop CS's image to "tame" some of the wilder tonal and noise effects) or using the middle exposure layered over the Photomatics image in soft light blend which gives the sharper/smooth appearance.
