"Fly-through Dining"

New Blue was displaying some very unusual behavior, that I've never witnessed
from him before. For several minutes, he flew back and forth across the lagoon,
performing small circles, as a raptor does when spotting a ground animal to hunt.
Then suddenly, after a brief landing on shore, he appeared to spot a goldfish
about 30 feet from the shoreline where he was standing.

All at once he took to flight, and grabbed his lunch "to go", with barely a touchdown.
Until I witnessed this episode, the only way I've seen New Blue fish
is by wading along the shoreline, and diving for what he sees in front of him.
This was a new fishing technique he was performing. I just love animal behavior!
