Slovenia officially the Republic of Slovenia is a country in southern Central Europe. It is bordered by Italy to the west, Austria to the north, Hungary to the northeast, Croatia to the southeast, and the Adriatic Sea to the southwest. Slovenia is mostly mountainous and forested, covers 20,271 square kilometres and has a population of 2.1 million people.

Ljubljana is the capital and largest city of Slovenia. Extending over an alluvial plain, it is also located 140 km west of Zagreb (Croatia). With a surface area of 275 km2, it has 280,000 inhabitants.
Ljubljana has been greatly influenced by different cultures throughout its history. Its central position between Austria, Hungary, the Venetian region in Italy and Croatia has strongly marked its past, and therefore its present.

It is known for its student population and its green spaces, including the vast Tivoli Park. The winding Ljubljanica River, lined with sidewalk cafes, separates the old town from its commercial district.
Ljubljana enjoys a harmonious atmosphere that is both calm and more or less lively. This calm aspect is reflected above all in the historic center of the city which is completely pedestrianized and less noisy. It is therefore easy to get around on foot or by bike. You can also be impressed by the energy of the city of Ljubljana. Very lively, the pedestrian streets are full of welcoming restaurant-terraces and nice bars, ideal for recharging your batteries after visiting the city.
