It is through greater greening of the city that Ljubljana intends to improve air quality. Over the past three years, more than 2,000 additional trees have been planted along the city's main thoroughfares and in public gardens. Five new parks, representing some 40 hectares of additional green space, have been created. And the banks of the Save which crosses the city have been developed.
