The main entry hall...

My parents' home

Nobody uses this door to get in.
Everybody uses the other entry, by the kitchen.
Also friends and visitors, by now, have taken the habit of ringing the bell of the kitchen door.
Mum once complained and asked
“But way didn’t you come to the other door, here is so messy, in the kitchen corridor…”
Now she has stopped asking.
So the main entry remains aseptically out of use.
But the big China vase, which belonged to my great-grandparents,
has its effective usefulness.
As a child, I threw there all the chocolates and candies papers,
to not allow mum guess how many I had eaten.
Once in a while, when she cleaned the vase, she found all the papers
and she repeated that it was not a dusty bin.
Now it’s Dad who does the same…
So inside the vase there is always evidence
of a gluttony crime!

I am back to this wonderful gallery. This main entry is so warm and full of atmosphere... With me, the China vase would have empty beer bottles... Just joking, but if you could get used to throw coins into it, you could buy something good later on.

The beauty of it is that it was never broken. A well-used past. I wonder if there's anything in there now.

Ahh the little secrets each family harbors.
