One Year of Photography 2008-2009 and a major crash later

I planned to upload my yearly selection on Sept 24th accurately to the day of my
five years membership to Pbase. Unfortunately, Pbase went that day into a major
crash that was sensed some days ago with minor ones...
More than one month later, Pbase didn't recover completely with hit counts still
not effective...I'm not afraid of losing some pictures, what I'm afraid of is losing
everything around the pictures that makes of Pbase one of the most active, friendly, and lively
photographers networks in the world...
I guess Slug and Emily should realise they are keepers of a priceless treasure and
that they cannot play with it and keep on having so lousy back up devices...
Well, I hope now that it will teach them a lesson and hope to see Pbase coming back
soon with full reliability, fonctionality, speed, and attractivity for members who have
left or have obviously slowed down their activity here.
As usual, as every year, I'd like to thank warmly for your visits, comments that
I highly value and my apologies if I'm not able to reply each time.

I could not agree more with you with your introductory comment... I myself, who LOVE the PBase community have found myself a bit detached lately, not as active as before, a bit "blasé" of those regular recurrent problems. It left a bad taste even though PBase community is indeed quite unique because of its unique members. Oh...and this gallery? Marc...You are the best...or...among the top best on PBase :) Congratulations for your fifth anniversary :)!!

This is an excellent idea: to edit your own selection from many galleries and to present them like this. I will enjoy looking at them individually. The fact that this uploading coincided with the major crash is interesting and will focus our attention on the value we derive both artistically and personally from pbase, in a way that wouldn't be so readily accessible elsewhere. Congratulations to you on this fine body of work.

Great presentation as usual, wonderful sets of 4 images that convey so much to us, I think the PBase crash too us all by surprise and the recovery too. I thought everything would be back to normal within a short time, but as you say 1 month later and everything is still not well, lets hope it returns to full functionality soon! Regards Derek

La première chose: une galerie pleine de photos incroyablement belles, pleine de couleurs et de moments particulier: je suis fascinée et reste en admiration devant ton oeuver. The big thing for me is indeed that Pbase is a very warm, empowering and active community which sitimulates me very mich. And indeed, Marc, thát exactly, I am afraid of losing too. I hesitated, like you, to upload a new gallery but decided to go for it again despite the fact that the counting system doesn't work and I can't see my freshly uploaded pictures in original size anymore.
