Built in the 30s it runs from central VA to southern NC.
There are some 40 "peaks" in the Great Smoky Mountains that are over 6,000 ft.
Even at this elevation there are trees. No sub-alpine to alpine habitats here.
More like tall hills than mountains, but if you are 200 million years old,
you are allowed some leeway.
