Olympus C3000Z

My first digital. My first autofocus. Took me a while to get used to not shooting when the green autofocus light was still blinking :-) I still use this camera alot in mostly B&W.

And for B&W pics it has absolutely out of camera great tones, works really great for high contrast with the "whiteboard" setting on the menu too. Think I got it in 2001.

Canon EOS 10D
1/60s f/7.1 at 85.0mm iso800 with Flash full exif

other sizes: small medium large original auto

I recently got the Olympus C3000Z in excellent shape from a pawn shop (without the remote control), for the unbelievable price of $20.00 Canadian (including a trade-in of an Olympus D550 which I got for free). What a fantastic camera especially for landscape, portraits, colours are correct, flesh tones perfect. I am anxious to give it a thorough workout. It can easily print 8x10 pictures.

Hi Tom
Yeah when I think what I paid for this when it was "state of the art" :-( almost makes me sick....lol. I think DSLR's a better investment (slightly) cause the lenses are always worth some. I keep evertything though...if it works ok I don't care too much.

I'm still having a hard time NOT buying one of these! Geesh, they do nice shots. Just have a certain look that says, "Oly" all over it. I just have to keep telling myself I need to work more on processing and wait to get that new Minolta DSLR. Guess if I wait a year, I could get two for the price of one the way they're coming down. Pretty amazing what the old one's can be had for now. tfs
