Today my Nature and Travel Photography class went to the Knoxville Zoo. We got a, before opening, guided tour from Betty a zoo trainer and photographer for the Knoxville Zoo. It wasn't an all access tour but we got to do, and go to, lots of places the public isn't allowed.
This Snow Leopard gets ready to play with his morning snack. As part of a fall theme all of the zoo trainers placed pumpkins in many of the animals enclosures. As you can see there is a fence between me and the Snow Leopard.
This was not my favorite image of the day but it is best in keeping with the fall theme I have been uploading the past few days.
I just posted this quick since I am off to the Smokey Mountains this morning to get my last opportunity to photograph peak fall colors. There will be rain, and wind, between today and next weekend so this is the best it is going to be, as far as me and my camera are concerned.
I will have a Knoxville Zoo gallery up soon and I will clean up this image too.
UPDATE: The Knoxville Zoo gallery finally has some images here. http://www.pbase.com/lundy/gallery/knoxville_zoo
